Pop-Up Shop Visit: Glow Recipe NYC Downtown Studio’s Last Week!

If you’re in NYC, you can visit Glow Recipe’s latest Pop-Up Shop in SoHo! They’re only open in the month of March 2017 and this is their last week before they’re only accessible online again. Well, some of their products are in Sephora and Nordstrom but that’s only a few! Glow Recipe curates natural and harsh-free skincare products hailing from Korea where brands have been producing skincare almost 14 years ahead of American technology. Going to a physical location is like a skincare playground! You get to test all the products through touch and smell, an experience you don’t have online. There were weekly events where special guests like Gothamista, @suninayoung, and @omgbart came in for special, free beauty classes (and some classes even came with free gifts). I’ve visited Glow Recipe’s temporary pop-ups before at KCON and in K-town but this was their best and biggest pop-up ever! If you can’t come, click below for a quick tour and a look at my haul!

Location:
452 W Broadway
New York, NY 10012
(between W Houston and Prince Street)

Notice the address is WEST BROADWAY, not Broadway! Heard lots of ladies saying that their friend texted them with the wrong address and they were late for the free beauty class! You’ll see the cute watermelon clad storefront!

It’s two-stories, the main shopping floor is quite small and all the classes are held upstairs where you’ll have to pass the person who keeps track of the RSVP list. It’s on a first come, first serve basis so basically if you didn’t get to put your name down after the first 5 minutes of the email time stamp, you’re kind of out of luck (I was never able to make it to a class).

Modern floating shelves categorizes the stages of the Korean skincare routine. So neat, heart eyes!

Then each wall section is categorized by skin type where you’ll find what the co-founders, Sarah Lee and Christine Chang recommend.

Polluaging = Pollution + Aging. Get that dirt and pollution off your face! City-girls especially!

Pretty much the main center of the store: sheet masks, complete skincare kits, AND SAMPLES!!!! My FAVORITE! No commitments ya’ll.

Huxley samples! Baby trio of serums for $9, trio of cream, serum and I believe toner for $10. Whamisa’s famous Organic Flowers Toner for $3!

Dunzo.

I shopped at the center table the most because I didn’t need anything full-size at the moment so it’s the sample life for me.

Wedding Day Hand Creams and more Huxley samples underneath.

The Sheet Mask Wall.

Those just starting in their K-beauty journey to finding what works for them, highly recommend this affordable Glow Starter Kit at just $35.

I used the Wayskin to analyze the moisture level for my skin! It’s a cute donut shaped reader that will tell you your level on the app! I scored a level of 80 which is very moist!

  • MAKE P:REM Brightening Sauna Foil Mask $6
  • MAKE P:REM Firming Layering Double Mask $9

Current relationship with skincare right now: everything either single-use and disposal.

One of Glow Recipe’s bestsellers. Two-stepper: exfoliate with giant AHA acid soaked swab then sheetmask.

I just love lavender and this FEMMUE mask was just pretty.

The Make P:rem oil mask intrigued me. The MD’s Pick modeling mask in gold also looked fun.

More Make P:rem branded masks. There’s a foil sauna mask and a layering mask! So many different types of masks!

Of course Blossom Jeju masks. These are also a two-stepper: spread on the 100% Pure Camellia Oil then put the sheet mask over your face to let is soak in. Drench me.
