ZOMG. This may be one of Club Clio’s best K-beauty sample sales taking place in their New York City, Union Square location. The sale promised Korean beauty products up to 90% off and it delivered. If you didn’t catch my line-blogging on my Instagram Stories, here’s the price breakdown. Most makeup were any 3 for $5, 3 for $3, 3 for $10 or 2 for $1 depending on what they were (I have pictures of it all). Skincare was $10 each or 3 for $10 and it included brands like Goodal, Dr. G, and Sooae but items from the latter two were limited to their Acne lines by the time I got there at 5:30pm. I overheard the new manager, Larry, saying how their product was supposed to last all week long (even though sale dates were posted for a two week duration) but it doesn’t look like it will even last through the next day! Get there early if you’re dead set on getting something! There are tons of lip products left, BB and CC Creams, single eye shadows (no more palettes), but skincare is running scant as Larry was hawking them to people on line, “last serums, 3 for $10, these won’t be here tomorrow”. I was in Tokyo, Japan for two blissful weeks and I’m back with a pretty big haul to show you! I went in with a small list of most recommended products because I really didn’t need to buy anything but still came back with a table full of kawaii (cute) makeup, skincare and random cat items! When shopping for cosmetics in Japan, look for the “#1” stickers that are usually in shiny foil right on the plastic packaging. It’s a safe bet if you want “the best” thing to buy. I generally stuck to popular drugstore items because they’re reasonably priced and they’ve been vouched for by millions of users through Cosme, a Japanese beauty community who rank products. I like to think of it like a Japanese Yelp but for beauty products. The haul below is probably what a lot of first-timers in Japan would also buy so check out to see if anything interests you! You can find most of these in the Matsumoto Kyoshi, Don Quiote, Loft (in Shibuya), and Ainz & Tuple. I plan to do a must-go shopping post in Tokyo too. Click below to see my 50+ items! Damn, I did that much damage.
I’m back from the Peach & Lily 2nd Annual Sample Sale with day-of updates! I was invited as press and got to check out the sale five minutes before the mayhem! You can check out my Snapchat (@CCBEAUTYTHERAPY) and Instagram (@CECIBEAUTYTHERAPY) for LIVE footage as the sale unfolded this morning at 8am. There are new rules and flow process this year so click below read about my experience in order set your expectations!
JKNLEE SALE UPDATE:
Your best bet at getting the best stock at the JKNLEE K-Beauty Sample Sale is by getting there as early as 10:30AM! There were some new things that were put out as I didn’t recognized some items (I crept by the window at night because they wouldn’t let you in past 6pm). They have a very organized way of allowing the maximum amount of people through the doors as a means of crowd control. Each shopper is handed a plastic shopping bag with a number on it and when the shopper pays and exits, a new shopper gets their chance inside. There’s someone monitoring the door at all times so I didn’t feel like it was chaotic at all. See my insider photos when you click to read more! View Post
Peach and Lily held the first ever Korean Beauty Sample Sale in New York City last week and I was there for both days – Day 1 as a regular patron and Day 2 as an invited VIP/Press guest during their VIP preview. In this post, I’m writing about my experience on both sides, on both days. If you’re not familiar with what Peach and Lily is, they’re an ecommerce site that curate and deliver the best beauty from Asia and make it accessible for those in search for perfect skin. They carry innovative, hard-to-find brands like MAY-COOP and Cremorlab where even Korean locals have a difficult time searching for.
The Sample Sale advertised that makeup would be $5 each or 5 for $20 as a bundle. The only makeup brands were from Club Clio or Peripera – Club Clio’s younger sister brand – (oh and one highlighter pencil from Oh Shy!). As for skincare, my email indicated savings up to 90% off for brands that included Aromatica, Caolion, IOPE, Mizon, Shangpree, Tony Moly, Son & Park, Lalavesi, Moonshot and MORE! I salivated reading my email over and over again. It seemed too good to be true! Click to see EVERYTHING! View Post
