South Street Seaport x CECI BEAUTY THERAPY Collaboration – Korean Beauty Tips From A Local New Yorker

I’m so excited to reveal that I recently collaborated with the South Street Seaport to write an article for their blog and it’s been published! You can see the JKNLEE South Street Seaport store visit in my last post here where I toured the store and showed you my Snapchat haul. I am honored to write this piece for the Seaport District because I’ve grown up near this beautiful community in the last 30 years where I’m witnessing its growth and influence to bring people together.

You can read the full article to see my favorite beauty tip that I live by and my Top 3 Picks from the stores here under the South Street Seaport’s “Stories” link! I’ll also do an Instagram Takeover on their handle here so watch out in the coming week (my first post is already live)! Hope you enjoy the article! Leave me any comments if you have anything to share or questions to ask!

Store Visit: JKNLEE South Street Seaport Pop-Up Shop

South St Seaport JKNLee Pop-Up Shop

K-beauty is multiplying! The insanity is just not stopping and I’m LOVING it. I’ve lived in Chinatown, NYC practically all my life and the closest shopping destination used to be the South Street Seaport‘s Pier 17. I actually worked at the Express and Coach store once upon a time. Retail businesses suffered since Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on the community in 2012 but I’m thrilled to say that the Seaport District has been hugely revitalized! There are free music fests, a permanent Smorgasburg (inside the Fulton Street Market where the Gap used to be), outdoor seating and a plethora of new bars and restaurants that add vibrancy back to the neighborhood. The new Pier 17 will also open in 2017. Little did I know that they are also heavily on-trend in the beauty scene because there’s a temporary K-beauty pop-up shop from JKNLEE. I collaborated with the South Street Seaport, did a photo tour of the space and picked up some things too!

Photo Tour: New Two Level K-Beauty Shopping Emporium in Chinatown, NYC – Everyday Beauty Lab

Everyday Beauty Lab Photo Tour Store Visit K-beauty Chinatown NYC

OH EM GEE. At the same time I was in the JKNLEE K-Beauty Sample Sale whirlwind, my sister-in-law told me about a new k-beauty store opening in – you guessed it – Chinatown, NYC. When she described to me that it was a huge, two level beauty emporium, I immediately went over there to inspect what might be the BIGGEST K-Beauty/Asian beauty palace in Manhattan now. I was in awe. It was like I was in a less crowded, high-end SaSa in Hong Kong. Everyday Beauty Lab is from the same chain as Everyday Beauty (locations in Flushing and Hester St.) and this mega-store houses everything from premium hanbang skincare, The History of Whoo, to a variety of fun and affordable items such as the Pure Smile “Will You Be A Cat/Dog” sheet masks. Come shopping with me and view my photo tour of 50+ pictures!

(CLOSED) Photo Tour: The Yeon – Chinatown, NYC

The Yeon Mott Street NYC Chinatown k-beauty shopping

(CLOSED AS OF MAY 2017.) The Yeon on Mott Street, Chinatown is one of the newer stores that opened last year and has a variety of sheet masks, skincare and hair care stuffed inside this former Ten Ren Tea shop. Another mega-size Yeon store already sits in Flushing, Queens but it’s not worth an hour+ long train ride unless I plan to haul like a badass. Even though it’s 1/8 of its Flushing branch, it stocks a sufficient amount of products with quite a few non-Yeon products. This store is listed on my suggested route for k-beauty shopping in Chinatown since it’s easily in the same areas as my other favorite stores. Click on to see its full offering!

Photo Tour: Nature Republic – Union Sq. New York City

Another Nature Republic k-beauty brick and mortar store opened last month in NYC’s Union Sq! Yes, there’s already one in NYC’s Chinatown and another in Flushing, Queens but this is a big deal because this store is under management from Nature Republic headquarters in Korea. The stores on Centre Street and Flushing are only licensed and therefore will oftentimes not have the newest releases or even the same sales/promotions. The store is also easily 10x the size of the Chinatown one and conveniently located in one of the most accessible neighborhoods in New York City. I went to their Grand Opening and you can click through to see the entire photo tour and some of my recommendations!
