For quite a while I’ve been stalking the Peach and Lily website for an incentive to make an online purchase (and now I’m sharing a $10 discount off your $50+ order in my post below). If you’ve ever shopped online around for Korean/Asian Beauty products, you’ll notice that there’s almost always an obnoxious flashy ad banner with a timed special deal or a 1+1 (BOGO) offer to convert a browser into a paying customer. But Peach and Lily is not your typical etailer.
About Peach and Lily
Peach and Lily curates the best brands and products from all over Korea and Japan that use natural ingredients. They are changing the way we access, discover and shop for Asian beauty by providing us an informational and guided shopping experience. Asian beauty products are almost 12 years ahead of skincare innovation than USA-made products and with the industry always 10 steps ahead, it’s hard to keep up with that’s new after snail slime or dragon’s blood. There are less restrictions using new or “weird” ingredients and Asian women are more open to experimentation (if a product does what it claims).
They are introducing brands that haven’t yet entered the American market which differentiates them greatly from other competitors in my opinion. Taking a look at their “Brands” tab, I did not recognize 75% of the brands they carried (Cremorlab, MAY COOP, Shangpree, UKA, Aromatica, etc). In order to stand out in this growing niche market, Peach and Lily is determined the provide products and services that no body else can. (more…)
Alert: There is a new AB (Asian Beauty) Subscription Service on the rise! I’m a new subscriber to The 3b Box – 3b standing for Beauty Beyond Borders. You’ve probably arrived at my page some way, some how because you’re interested in learning more about Korean/Taiwanese/Japanese Beauty and there’s no better way to start diving in by SAMPLING to see what right for your skincare/makeup goals and needs.
3b is a monthly subscription priced at $12/month, shipping included! You get 4 – 5 DELUXE samples in each month with an info card that gives you tips on how to use your new goodies (previously there were some FULL-SIZE surprises!).
According to their website, samples will range from go-to fan favorites like Etude House, Skin Food, Tony Moly to high-end like SK-II, Kanebo, and Sulwhasoo. They even translate the descriptions of each product in order to remove the language barrier to make these great, innovative products more accessible to you – hence their company name, Beauty Beyond Borders. I was merely on my way to the subway station on Canal Street until I see Grand Opening store signage: TONY MOLY on Walker Street. WAHHHH?!?!?! When did THIS happen? I quickly popped in to interrogate the poor Sales Assistant. Why didn’t I know?! All these Korean mainstream beauty shops have been opening up like mad in the past year and none of them market their grand opening dates! Bloggers find out in some way or another and news slowly trickles down to the online community but by the time it gets to us, we miss their grand opening specials and no one’s happy! Argh!
I did my due diligence and I’m posting another delicious photo
dump tour of the shop and asked the SA which items have been madly popular, about to sell out, grand opening specials and if there are any new items coming in. This Tony Moly has been opened for 2 months already (sounds like mid-Feb?). Click to view the cosmetic/skincare porn. (more…)
The second Mask Maven bag arrived early April but I didn’t get to “unbox” (unbag?) until now. There were lots of other reveals from bloggers but the unique thing is that we all can get different “flavors” of masks from the same series. This will be shorter than my last post, first impressions only.
First overall impression: I like this April bag a WHOLE lot better than their launch bag in March. It was so disappointing that their very first bag was half-full of lower quality masks that didn’t have a great ingredients list, i.e. their star ingredients listed at the very bottom of the list. This made me question my commitment to a 6-month subscription but the April bag is keeping me hopeful for May.
If you’re not familiar with Beauteque’s Mask Maven see my introductory post here. See their March Launch bag here. (more…)
I came back from Taipei for only 1 week and I had already put in an Asian Beauty haul from Rose Rose Shop (RRS). -___- You would think I was done with shopping but I had a small excuse to fit in a haul. (And my Taipei travel haul to come – it’s impressive).
My boyfriend asked me again if there was anything HE could do for his dark eye circles. While I did find the Petitfée Gold & EGF Hydrogel Eye Patches in Taipei’s local beauty store, 86 Shop, they only carried the eye and spot patch variety and I wanted the full ying and yang eye patch shape. (See the differences below in my post.) (more…)
