Peach and Lily First Ever Sample Sale in NYC – Days 1 & 2 Full In-Depth Tour

Peach and Lily held the first ever Korean Beauty Sample Sale in New York City last week and I was there for both days – Day 1 as a regular patron and Day 2 as an invited VIP/Press guest during their VIP preview. In this post, I’m writing about my experience on both sides, on both days. If you’re not familiar with what Peach and Lily is, they’re an ecommerce site that curate and deliver the best beauty from Asia and make it accessible for those in search for perfect skin. They carry innovative, hard-to-find brands like MAY-COOP and Cremorlab where even Korean locals have a difficult time searching for.

The Sample Sale advertised that makeup would be $5 each or 5 for $20 as a bundle. The only makeup brands were from Club Clio or Peripera – Club Clio’s younger sister brand – (oh and one highlighter pencil from Oh Shy!). As for skincare, my email indicated savings up to 90% off for brands that included Aromatica, Caolion, IOPE, Mizon, Shangpree, Tony Moly, Son & Park, Lalavesi, Moonshot and MORE! I salivated reading my email over and over again. It seemed too good to be true! Click to see EVERYTHING! View Post

If you read PART ONE of my Urban Outfitters Photo Tour, you’ll know that the Urban Outfitters in Herald Sq, New York City has the BIGGEST selection in Asian/Korean Beauty products out of any other UO in the states. In PART TWO of my Photo Tour in Urban Outfitters, I’d to focus on the Peach and Lily event where CEO/Founder Alicia Yoon gave one on one skincare consultations and a free swag bag. In ADDITION to your purchase, Urban Outfitters was also giving away free gifts with ANY purchase so there were two freebies in one purchase for their one year celebration at Herald Sq – AWESOME.

I made a visit at the Urban Outfitters on 1333 Broadway (b/t 35th & 36th Street), NYC back in March and I was stunned to find that their back section on the first floor was an impressive selection of Asian/Korean Beauty items from Skinfood, Mizon, The Face Shop, Be the Skin, Aromatica, Tony Moly, Peripera, Holika Holika, Goodal, DHC and Caolion. I had been meaning to go back and take better pictures since a few were blurry and it just so happens that UO was celebrating their #OneYear anniversary last Friday since its opening day in Herald Sq, New York City. I knew UO had started to stock Asian Beauty brands on their website but this particular location has the BEST SELECTION from these brands than any other UO. Seeing the testers in person always makes my heart skip a beat and the goosebumps follow right after (it’s silly but the heart knows what makes it pitter-patter).

This Urban Outfitters location on 1333 Broadway (b/t 35 & 36th Street), NYC is secretly chock full of Asian/K-Beauty goods – tell your moms! Tell your cats!

In this post I want to first give my normal Photo Tour of the selection and note a bit on the prices/store inflation and/or availability elsewhere. Then PART TWO  I reported on the #UOBeautyxPL event where Urban invited Peach and Lily Founder/CEO, Alicia Yoon, to speak to their Peachies one on one about what their skin care routine is potentially missing. The swag bag was GREAT! Click to reveal the full post of PART ONE!  View Post

For quite a while I’ve been stalking the Peach and Lily website for an incentive to make an online purchase (and now I’m sharing a $10 discount off your $50+ order in my post below). If you’ve ever shopped online around for Korean/Asian Beauty products, you’ll notice that there’s almost always an obnoxious flashy ad banner with a timed special deal or a 1+1 (BOGO) offer to convert a browser into a paying customer. But Peach and Lily is not your typical etailer.

About Peach and Lily

Peach and Lily curates the best brands and products from all over Korea and Japan that use natural ingredients. They are changing the way we access, discover and shop for Asian beauty by providing us an informational and guided shopping experience. Asian beauty products are almost 12 years ahead of skincare innovation than USA-made products and with the industry always 10 steps ahead, it’s hard to keep up with that’s new after snail slime or dragon’s blood. There are less restrictions using new or “weird” ingredients and Asian women are more open to experimentation (if a product does what it claims).

They are introducing brands that haven’t yet entered the American market which differentiates them greatly from other competitors in my opinion. Taking a look at their “Brands” tab, I did not recognize 75% of the brands they carried (Cremorlab, MAY COOP, Shangpree, UKA, Aromatica, etc). In order to stand out in this growing niche market, Peach and Lily is determined the provide products and services that no body else can.
