ZOMG. This may be one of Club Clio’s best K-beauty sample sales taking place in their New York City, Union Square location. The sale promised Korean beauty products up to 90% off and it delivered. If you didn’t catch my line-blogging on my Instagram Stories, here’s the price breakdown. Most makeup were any 3 for $5, 3 for $3, 3 for $10 or 2 for $1 depending on what they were (I have pictures of it all). Skincare was $10 each or 3 for $10 and it included brands like Goodal, Dr. G, and Sooae but items from the latter two were limited to their Acne lines by the time I got there at 5:30pm. I overheard the new manager, Larry, saying how their product was supposed to last all week long (even though sale dates were posted for a two week duration) but it doesn’t look like it will even last through the next day! Get there early if you’re dead set on getting something! There are tons of lip products left, BB and CC Creams, single eye shadows (no more palettes), but skincare is running scant as Larry was hawking them to people on line, “last serums, 3 for $10, these won’t be here tomorrow”. I’m so excited to reveal that I recently collaborated with the South Street Seaport to write an article for their blog and it’s been published! You can see the JKNLEE South Street Seaport store visit in my last post here where I toured the store and showed you my Snapchat haul. I am honored to write this piece for the Seaport District because I’ve grown up near this beautiful community in the last 30 years where I’m witnessing its growth and influence to bring people together.
You can read the full article to see my favorite beauty tip that I live by and my Top 3 Picks from the stores here under the South Street Seaport’s “Stories” link! I’ll also do an Instagram Takeover on their handle here so watch out in the coming week (my first post is already live)! Hope you enjoy the article! Leave me any comments if you have anything to share or questions to ask!
K-beauty is multiplying! The insanity is just not stopping and I’m LOVING it. I’ve lived in Chinatown, NYC practically all my life and the closest shopping destination used to be the South Street Seaport‘s Pier 17. I actually worked at the Express and Coach store once upon a time. Retail businesses suffered since Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on the community in 2012 but I’m thrilled to say that the Seaport District has been hugely revitalized! There are free music fests, a permanent Smorgasburg (inside the Fulton Street Market where the Gap used to be), outdoor seating and a plethora of new bars and restaurants that add vibrancy back to the neighborhood. The new Pier 17 will also open in 2017. Little did I know that they are also heavily on-trend in the beauty scene because there’s a temporary K-beauty pop-up shop from JKNLEE. I collaborated with the South Street Seaport, did a photo tour of the space and picked up some things too!
The Peripera Watery Face Pride Up! BB Cushion is my second cushion so I’m no BB cushion expert but I can already firmly say that this cushion sucks. This is going to be a quick review for others to stay away because it’s not worth buying for all the reasons to follow. If you see this cushion go on super sale, do not fall into temptation. It was $5 on a Memebox sale and $10 at the JKN Lee sample sale. You’ll also see the same cushion repackaged with Disney’s Frozen characters on it since it has a snowflake theme on the casing. It’s SPF 50, PA+++ and I bought it in shade 2 Vanilla Beige. Click to see my complete rants about this product. (more…)
Your best bet at getting the best stock at the JKNLEE K-Beauty Sample Sale is by getting there as early as 10:30AM! There were some new things that were put out as I didn’t recognized some items (I crept by the window at night because they wouldn’t let you in past 6pm). They have a very organized way of allowing the maximum amount of people through the doors as a means of crowd control. Each shopper is handed a plastic shopping bag with a number on it and when the shopper pays and exits, a new shopper gets their chance inside. There’s someone monitoring the door at all times so I didn’t feel like it was chaotic at all. See my insider photos when you click to read more! (more…)
