South Street Seaport x CECI BEAUTY THERAPY Collaboration – Korean Beauty Tips From A Local New Yorker

I’m so excited to reveal that I recently collaborated with the South Street Seaport to write an article for their blog and it’s been published! You can see the JKNLEE South Street Seaport store visit in my last post here where I toured the store and showed you my Snapchat haul. I am honored to write this piece for the Seaport District because I’ve grown up near this beautiful community in the last 30 years where I’m witnessing its growth and influence to bring people together.

Store Visit: JKNLEE South Street Seaport Pop-Up Shop

K-beauty is multiplying! The insanity is just not stopping and I’m LOVING it. I’ve lived in Chinatown, NYC practically all my life and the closest shopping destination used to be the South Street Seaport‘s Pier 17. I actually worked at the Express and Coach store once upon a time. Retail businesses suffered since Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on the community in 2012 but I’m so happy to say that the Seaport District has been hugely revitalized! There are free music fests, a permanent Smorgasburg (inside the Fulton Street Market where the Gap used to be), outdoor seating and a plethora of new bars and restaurants that add vibrancy back to the neighborhood. The new Pier 17 will also open in 2017. Little did I know that they are also heavily on-trend in the beauty scene because there’s a temporary K-beauty pop-up shop from JKNLEE. I collaborated with the South Street Seaport, did a photo tour of the space and picked up some things too!

The Peripera Watery Face Pride Up! BB Cushion is my second cushion so I’m no BB cushion expert but I can already firmly say that this cushion sucks. This is going to be a quick review for others to stay away because it’s not worth buying for all the reasons to follow. If you see this cushion go on super sale, do not fall into temptation.

Review: J:DEW Green Moist Essence – OMG That Lavender/Bergamont Scent

I received the J:DEW Green Moist Essence complimentary for review from an online Korean cosmetics and skincare shop, Q-depot. I have dry skin and wanted something that would provide moisture and/or brightening. Working with Q-depot, they were kind enough to give me three J:DEW options in the format of a face cream, emulsion or essence. I love the concentrated power of essences/serums so I opted for that choice and I’m very impressed thus far in my two weeks of testing. Key ingredients are organic aloe vera and green tea from Jeju Island and adenosine that will fade away wrinkles and bring firmness back to skin. And can I just say that I love, LOVE the lavender/bergamont scent it has? This product was a super surpriser because I wasn’t expecting much from a brand I’ve never heard of before.
