Your best bet at getting the best stock at the JKNLEE K-Beauty Sample Sale is by getting there as early as 10:30AM! There were some new things that were put out as I didn’t recognized some items (I crept by the window at night because they wouldn’t let you in past 6pm). They have a very organized way of allowing the maximum amount of people through the doors as a means of crowd control. Each shopper is handed a plastic shopping bag with a number on it and when the shopper pays and exits, a new shopper gets their chance inside. I walk through Chinatown, NYC in order to go to work every morning and I noticed a new store was about to open on the corner of Catherine Street and East Broadway. There was no signage but I can look in easily through the ceiling to floor windows and saw a design board with Club Clio’s logo on the color samples for the walls! I was psyched that another k-beauty store was coming into town so I took a picture of the storefront for my records and waited for some sort of announcement before I leaked my photo out. Through IG, there was a Sample Sale announcement from JKNLee, a new k-beauty ecommerce site that houses Club Clio, Goodal, Peripera, Dr. G, Ostia, SOO AE, and even Tony Moly. SK-II is hosting a Pop-Up Studio in New York City’s SoHo area again from Oct. 3 – Oct 31, 2015. SK-II is launching a new Change Destiny campaign with movie star and spokeswoman, Cate Blanchett. The campaign is really inspiring because changing your destiny is applicable in all areas of your life (something I’m actively doing right now with my career). In terms of your skin destiny, SK-II is empowering women with the knowledge that you can shift the age of your age now. We have the power to reverse the damage, dark spots and wrinkles of your skin if you choose to. The direction of destiny is in our choice to commit to the process and to be educated in the endless amount of options out there. This can all be fun instead of overwhelming, as well as addicting! Peach and Lily held the first ever Korean Beauty Sample Sale in New York City last week and I was there for both days – Day 1 as a regular patron and Day 2 as an invited VIP/Press guest during their VIP preview. In this post, I’m writing about my experience on both sides, on both days. If you’re not familiar with what Peach and Lily is, they’re an ecommerce site that curate and deliver the best beauty from Asia and make it accessible for those in search for perfect skin. They carry innovative, hard-to-find brands like MAY-COOP and Cremorlab where even Korean locals have a difficult time searching for.
The Sample Sale advertised that makeup would be $5 each or 5 for $20 as a bundle. The only makeup brands were from Club Clio or Peripera – Club Clio’s younger sister brand – (oh and one highlighter pencil from Oh Shy!). As for skincare, my email indicated savings up to 90% off for brands that included Aromatica, Caolion, IOPE, Mizon, Shangpree, Tony Moly, Son & Park, Lalavesi, Moonshot and MORE! The cuteness mothership has arrived. Pandas, apples, bananas, peaches, snails and bunnies – REJOICE! I’ve had the pleasure of attending the VIP opening event for the Tony Moly Flagship Store opening on Friday, June 26, 2015. The celebration included a social media contest drawing, an in-store raffle, free gifts, hair/makeup makeovers and grand opening specials! This space was formerly the Koryo bookstore that also shared space with The Face Shop. When renovation was underway, The Face Shop moved a few stores down into a new storefront and I suppose this was the perfect opportunity for Tony Moly to take over Ktown! The entire space reopened with Kpop and books/media on the right side, Tony Moly on the left side and Shine 32 (Kpop style accessories and jewelry) taking up the second floor.
The Flagship boasts a Tony Moly Lifestyle experience because it has a hair styling and makeup area in the back where you can make private appointments for a makeup and skincare consultations. There is also a Brow Lounge that displays their selection of false eyelashes and recommended brow makeup to complete your look.
The Flagship also operates the official U.S. ecommerce site, if you’ll remember from my Chinatown Tony Moly Photo Tour, the site was still under construction! Now it’s officially opened for business so if you’re not located in New York City, this is where you can buy authentic product direct from Tony Moly and not through a distributor.
